Devon Freewheelers Supports Its Home Town

Submitted on

Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Devon Freewheelers has been part of a community wide effort to support vulnerable people in our home town of Honiton and the surrounding villages. A Honiton Coronavirus support group was set up which included groups,  charities  and companies such as Honiton Health Matters, Honiton 55 Centre, The Beehive, TRIP,  Honiton Food Bank,  Random Kitchen, Honiton Surgery, Tesco and with the support of some town councillors amongst many others. The group has worked collectively to provide a wide variety of services to meet vulnerable residents within our community.

Since March the 23rd, Devon Freewheelers have delivered medication to 375 patients, who had no other way of getting their medication. This service has covered over 789 miles and has been provided completely free of charge.

Devon Freewheelers are extremely proud to have been part of such an extraordinary community effort to support those in need during the Covid-19 pandemic.

If you need help with medication deliveries whilst self isolating, please call  0300 800 0109, Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00 or for help with shopping, meal deliveries or a friendly ear please call 01404 384050.
